Radio Arlington is founded by Ted Schneider and Becky Meiers. They serve as the board of the organization.

Hi, Ted here! I’m excited to move Radio Arlington forward with a reimagined WERA-LP (97.6 FM) that lives up to its potential to inform, entertain and serve the community I’ve called home since 1988.

Currently, I work at Voice of America in the Broadcast Maintenance Division, undertaking complex audio, video and IT projects involving equipment installation and configuration.

Previously, I was a Broadcast Operations Technician at Westwood One/NBC Radio/CBS Radio Sports handling all aspects of master control, studio and field production, and Chief Engineer for WWCK AM/FM in Flint, MI, responsible for technical maintenance, operation and insuring FCC compliance.  I’m SMPTE certified in Essentials of IP Media for Broadcasters and Understanding SMPTE ST 2110 and hold an FCC General Radiotelephone Operator License.  I received a BAA with majors in Broadcast & Cinematic Arts and Journalism from Central Michigan University.

Hi, I’m Becky! I’m a community radio fanatic. I’m excited to be a part of Radio Arlington, and to help relaunch WERA-LP. I am deeply committed to the universal service aspect of our airwaves, that the public good is served well with local, public media.

I currently work at NPR Distribution and previously served as General Manager of KCAW Sitka, Board President at Freeform Portland, and Development Director at KBOO Community Radio. My leadership and advisory experience includes co-hosting the 2018 Grassroots Radio Conference, as well as serving on the boards of Native Voice One, Common Frequency, The Media Project, the Sitka Ham Amateur Radio Klub, and the Sitka Local Emergency Planning Committee as the PIO.

Additionally, I hold a SBE Certified Broadcast Technologist (CBT) certification, a General Class ham radio license (KL4YY), and a tower climber certification. I’ve got a Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art from Florida State University and a Certificate in Nonprofit Fundraising from Portland State University.
